What is liposuction

The liposuction procedure is ideal for individuals who possess stubborn pockets of fat which they are anxious to remove. Exercise, as well as diet and lifestyle changes should be the first resort, with liposuction being the last. Liposuction is not suitable and indeed not helpful to those who are overweight or obese. Liposuction is designed purely to improve a persons shape!

Surprisingly even after extracting 3 litres of fat there is scarcely any weight loss at all. Moreover if the patients undergoes liposuction when overweight, and subsequently loses a lot of weight later on the effects are spoiled. Ideal candidates are those aged between 18-43 ish. Once patients reach late 40's and upwards the skin elasticity does not lend itself to liposuction. The amount of fat which can be safely removed in one procedure can be as much 4-5 litres. This amount greatly reduces if combined with another procedure. If the patients possesses a lot of fat everywhere the procedure may be done in 2 phases.

What the liposuction procedure consists of

Liposuction is performed under a general anaesthetic and can take between approximately 40-90 minutes to perform. Unlike a few years ago there are few skin puncture marks to indicate where the canula was inserted. Nowadays the canula's are much more slender and longer. Often one small puncture in the central abdomen region, enables the surgeon to work on the tummy as well as both hips. The canula can actually bends/works around angles. The procedure requires on average 1 night hospitalisation

With no special post op care. Other that obviously no lifting, straining or stretching for around 1 month.

What happens when I'm in Prague?

Usually John Babbage or a member of staff will meet you on arrival at Prague airport and give a guided tour on the way to your private apartment plus show you the best places to eat and, of course, shop…

The day after arrival you after your comprehensive medical you will meet the surgeon who will ensure all is ok before proceeding. The next morning, we will pick you up from the clinic and take you to the apartment where you can relax in peace and privacy.

We will then be available to you for as long as you wish to make sure your recovery period is as easy as possible. Ultimately, Europa International treats you as an individual and we will be there for you before, during and after.
